Queens Park Rangers are a team looking to mount a serious promotion push in the forthcoming season.

With Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink at the helm, they have a very ambitious talented manager who is keen to get them back to the top flight of English football, which is where Hasslebaink spent the majority of his playing career.

Hasslebaink is backed by an ambitious owner in Tony Fernandes, someone who is not afraid to put his money where his mouth is, and has already dipped his hand into his pocket this summer to secure the signatures of numerous players such as Jordan Cousins and Jake Bidwell.

This article will take a look at the front three that Hasse;baink will have at his disposal for the forthcoming season, to potentially fire themselves into promotion contention...

Sebastian Polter

First comes Polter who signed for the club on the 2nd July 2015 on a three year deal from Bundesliga side FSV Mainz for an undisclosed fee.

After the departure of Charlie Austin to Southampton, Polter became Rangers' first choice striker for the majority of the campaign, and had a steady season scoring 7 goals in 23 games, however if Rangers are to be in and around the automatic promotion spots come the end of the season, he will need to improve considerably on his goal return.

Polter has undoubted potential and at the age of 25 he still has plenty of time to improve his overall game, Polter's potential was recognised at international level as he has been capped 10 times by the German under-21 side, scoring 4 goals.

He was also capped at under-18 and under-20 level.

Rangers fans will be hoping that after the experience of one year in England, that the German target man will be able to kick on and have a prolific second season at Loftus Road.

Conor Washington

On the 19th January 2016 Conor Washington joined Queens Park Rangers on a three-and-a-half year deal from League One Peterborough United.

Washington enjoyed a highly prolific spell in League One with former club Peterborough, where he scored 27 goals in 82 appearances, this led to Washington becoming one of the first new signings of the Hasselbaink era at Loftus Road.

However the Northern Ireland international has had somewhat of a tricky start to life at Loftus Road, after failing to score in any of his 10 appearances.

Washington will be keen to get a good pre-season under his belt and silence any critics that are questioning, whether he can cut it in the second tier of English football.

Washington has earned 5 caps for his national side Northern Ireland and has scored 2 goals in those appearances.

Tjaronn Chery

Queens Park Rangers signed Tjaronn Chery from Dutch side FC Groningen for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal in the summer of 2015.

Chery made 34 appearances last season, scoring 10 goals and providing many more for his team mates, his dribbling skills and creativity were a joy to watch at times last season and Hasselbaink will be keen to hang onto one of his key players.

Chery was a consistent goalscorer last season and scored some wonderful speculative efforts, and will be hoping for an even more productive campaign in the forthcoming season to help fire Rangers into the Premier League.
