West Brom manager Darren Moore starts the new week on the back of a solid point against Norwich City at the weekend, but knows his priority will be finding a replacement for Harvey Barnes who was recalled from his loan spell at the Hawthorns by parent club Leicester City.

According to The Mirror via the Birmingham Mail, Moore could be looking to Arsenal with 18-year-old Emile Smith-Rowe, a player the Baggies are considering on on-loan until the end of the season.

The youngster has been with the Gunners since the age of ten and has come through the England age groups, most recently playing for England Under-19s and though yet to start in the Premier League has impressed in Europa League fixtures.

Sp would the signing of Smith-Rowe be good business for West Brom?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

“This would be a decent back up to Harvey Barnes who was recalled last week.

“Emile Smith-Rowe has been doing well for Arsenal in cup competitions this season and could well benefit from regular game time in a competitive environment.

“If I were Darren Moore, I would try and make a move for the young Arsenal man.

“Their promotion hopes hinge on getting a player similar to the ability of Barnes.”

Louie Chandler

"He would certainly be good for squad depth.

"It would be a risk for Moore to be bringing him in with the intention of starting him given his lack of first-team football.

"But the Baggies will most likely need reinforcements all over the pitch to maintain their promotion push."

Gary Hutchinson

“This is the Harvey Barnes replacement.

“It’s interesting as I was under the impression there was to be no loans going out of Arsenal.

“There’s a worry they place too much emphasis on a young boy, expecting more than he can deliver.

“After all, he’s younger than Barnes.”

Jacob Potter

"It would be the ideal signing for the Baggies.

"He has already shown that he can perform to a high standard after a number of impressive performances in the Europa League for Arsenal this season.

"But after a lack of game time in the league, it’s no surprise to see Smith-Rowe being linked with a temporary move away from the Emirates Stadium.

"He could certainly have a positive impact on this West Ham side."
