Leeds United's 2018/19 financial accounts are to be released this morning, and The Athletic reporter Phil Hay has outlined some top-line figures from the report.

The Whites showed an operating loss of £36m and an annual loss of £21m, significant sums of money that showcase the financial state the Yorkshire club is in.

However, Leeds are not alone in this situation with a considerable amount of Championship sides ran at a loss.

Former Wigan Athletic chairman openly admitted that the Championship is not sustainable and is a 'bubble waiting to burst' - with it revealed that more than a half of clubs are spending more on wages than they make in revenue and income.
