Nottingham Forest confirmed the appointment of Steve Cooper as head coach yesterday, with the new man vowing to play attacking football.

Chris Hughton paid the price for a disastrous start to the season, in which the Reds didn't win a league game under his guidance.

The Forest hierarchy wasted little time in finding a replacement, with Cooper's arrival announced yesterday. And, the former Swansea chief sent a message to his new fans last night, as he praised the quality of the squad he has inherited as well as promising to play a stylish brand of football.

As you would expect, that went down very well with the Forest support, who were critical of the way the team played under Hughton as well as the results.
