Bolton Wanderers were pegged back by Burton Albion last night as they let a 2-1 lead slip, with Jamie Murphy netting the equaliser for the Brewers after some lax tracking from Dennis Politic out wide.

The Wanderers are looking as good as relegated this season after their gutting start to the season in which they have failed to muster a survival charge after their points deduction.

Their next game was a trip to the Pirelli Stadium to face Nigel Clough’s Burton Albion and they started the game in the right manner as they took the lead in the 20th-minute through Ryan Delaney, who headed home Ali Crawford’s corner.

The Brewers pegged Bolton back eight minutes later when Jamie Murphy bundled home a header at the back post, but the away side managed to take the lead again via Ethan Hamilton’s slotted finish.

The second-half saw Burton come out of the blocks looking to claw back an equaliser and they got their reward when Jamie Murphy turned in a cross from Reece Hutchinson as Bolton winger Dennis Politic failed to track the wing-backs run towards the by-line.

Just three minutes later, Politic was hauled off by Keith Hill on the 68th-minute and looked very dejected as he knew he was at fault for the game’s final goal - as pointed out by Marc Iles on Twitter.

With Bolton dropping points thanks to this goal, the fans were eager to weigh in on this observation of Politic after he was taken off...
