QPR have endured a torrid start to the season losing all their opening league fixtures and shipping seven goals in their last outing against West Brom.

Against this back-drop, the pressure is really on manager Steve McClaren and the news that midfielder Luke Freeman is set to stay at he club, according to journalist Alan Nixon can only be good news.

So at last, some good news for the Hoops?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

This is great news for McClaren.

Luke Freeman is one of QPR’s best players and his staying is a vital part of what they want to achieve this season.

If he had gone you’d assume Rangers’ season would be over, but with the news, he is staying, it’s one of their best bits of business they could have done this season.

Gary Hutchinson

For QPR, yes. For Luke Freeman? Maybe not.

They need everyone they can get and having bizarrely let Ryan Manning go, they had to keep Freeman.

Is it a good move for him? His side could be battling the drop all season.

If that happens, he’ll be gone in the summer anyway.

Jay Williams

QPR need to ensure they do not lose some of their best players, especially after the start they have had.

After losing all three games, including a 7-1 thumping away at West Brom, the last thing they need is for Freeman to be flogged on a loan-to-buy basis.

The Hoops are right to put their foot down and demand he stays, if only for one more season.

If QPR can sign a top striker to benefit from Freeman and Eberechi Eze in attacking midfield, it is only a matter of time before the results start turning around.

George Dagless

Huge for the R's.

If he'd left I'd have really worried for them but at least with him staying they still have a chance of remaining in the league.

It's going to be a tough season and they need Freeman in their side.
