Newcastle United's second win of the Premier League season at the weekend, could well have a big impact on West Brom's promotion push in the Championship this season.

The reason being, the scorer of both Magpies goals was West Brom loanee Salomon Rondon, who put in a man of the match performance in the 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

This form has led Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez to indicate in the Chronicle that the club could well make a move to make the loan deal permanent should Rondon's goal-scoring form continue.

From a West Brom point of view, if the Rondon deal becomes permanent, does that increase the chances of Dwight Gayle staying at the Baggies?

I would rather have Dwight Gayle over Rondon any day.

Rondon is a big, powerful forward but his goals to game ratio isn’t that impressive and he’s struggled a little in the Premier League to score regularly, for West Brom and now for Newcastle.

I think Darren Moore played this transfer well and got the better part of it, in my opinion.

So in all honesty, keeping Gayle would be better news than having Rondon back in the summer.

Gary Hutchinson

Very good news, Rondon is not a Championship player and Dwight Gayle clearly is.

If Newcastle try to sign him it would be amazing news for the Baggies.

They need to get the business done. Darren Moore ought to be on the phone now and every day until January pushing it through.

George Harbey

This is great news for Albion.

Gayle is such an important player for the Baggies and they missed him desperately when he was out with injury.

Rondon has found it difficult since his arrival at The Hawthorns, so it would be a good move for both parties.
