Sheffield Wednesday are sitting in a good position heading out of the international break, with Jos Luhukay’s side picking up 10 points from their opening six fixtures of the season.

A testing run is now on the horizon for the Owls, but they’ve been handed a big boost today, with Gary Hooper and Kieran Lee returning for the club’s under-23s.

Neither player has been able to feature under Luhukay, with their last appearances coming in December.

Just how much of a boost is that for the Owls?

We discuss…

Good news for Sheffield Wednesday?

Of course it is!

The really big news here is Hooper's return.

Up front is one area they've looked weak - Forestieri isn't a target man and Nuhiu isn't a lone striker.

Hooper coming back is wonderful news, as long as he's as sharp as he was before the long lay-off.

George Dagless

It's great news.

Both have got plenty to offer, of course, and will bolster the squad.

The Owls have looked better in recent games and having these two around will only make them that little bit stronger in the weeks to come.

Alfie Burns

This is going to be huge for the Owls.

Both players have had a long time out, so you can’t expect them back immediately, but in time they’ll have a big impact on Sheffield Wednesday’s season.

Hooper and Lee offer so much, and you can expect a big improvement in the Owls when they’re fit.
