Most pundits predict that Reading and Bolton are in for a relegation shoot out come the end of the season.

Therefore this early season encounter carries heavy significance for both sides.

So what do our writers think the outcome will be?

We discuss.....

Alfie Burns

Reading have been incredibly unlucky so far, whilst Bolton have impressed, so this should be a good contest.

Paul Clement will know the importance of getting some points on the board, so his side will have a real go here.

An entertaining 1-1 draw is my prediction.

Gary Hutchinson

1-0: I fancy Paul Clement to pull something out of the bag this weekend. Bolton haven’t started badly but this is still a six-pointer, or it will be with the power of hindsight.

Reading weren’t bad against Derby or Forest, but this game is a test of where they are in the battle at the bottom.

McNulty to score too, if he starts.

Jay Taylor

Bolton have started the season well, with Reading losing both of their Championship fixtures to this season so far.

The Royals have looked good but have lacked a cutting edge, while Bolton are putting the pre-season doubters to shame having won and drawn, can they sustain their current form?

I think a 1-1 draw will be the outcome of this particular encounter.

George Dagless

This is arguably the biggest game of the weekend.

Both have been tipped to drop by many but Bolton have started very well indeed.

Reading have lost against Derby and Forest but looked okay in both matches.

I think this ends 1-1.

Chris Gallagher

1-0: The Royals have lost both games so far but have been competitive against two sides fancied for the top six. This is a different task entirely though, with fans expecting a win.

Bolton have exceeded expectations so far but they still lack quality and Paul Clement's men should edge what will be a tight, nervy game.
