Ipswich Town have signed Kayden Jackson from League One side Accrington Stanley for an undisclosed fee, the club have confirmed.

The 24-year-old who scored 16 times in 50 games for Stanley has agreed a three-year contract at Portman Road.

Will Jackson be able to make the grade at Championship level? Is he a good signing for the Tractorboys?

We discuss.....

George Dagless

I like it.

He scored and set-up a lot of goals last season in League Two but seemed to go under the radar a bit.

Even so, he's got a big chance now so it'll be interesting to see if he takes it.

Sam Rourke

This is another gamble.

Yes, Jackson was excellent in League Two with Accrington Stanley last season but can he translate that prolific form to the Championship?

At 24, he does still have time to develop and mature as a footballer, so it could become a real shrewd signing.

Though, you cannot deny this is a risk.

Gary Hutchinson

No. I saw Jackson three times last season, twice in the league and once in the EFL Trophy and he didn't impress me at all. I'm really surprised at the size of the fee.

Paul Hurst wants to make Ipswich a success by shopping in League One and Two, but his money could have bought a better striker, that is for sure.

Jay Williams

It is a risk as he has to jump up two divisions and he has only had one prolific season in his career.

Before he moved to Accrington, Jackson had a poor goal scoring record in the Football League so Ipswich are hoping he has turned a corner and he is not a "one-season wonder".

I think that he could be a good signing as he is still young and will be eager to impress, but I'd have opted for a proven Championship striker instead.
