Caretaker West Brom boss Jimmy Shan has picked up two straight wins since the controversial sacking of Darren Moore three weeks ago.

He has seen off Swansea City and Brentford to steer them back in the right direction following a heavy defeat to Leeds United and a draw with Ipswich Town.

But they still sit a sizeable seven points behind Chris Wilder’s second-placed Blades with just eight matches left of the season.

Although the focus still remains on winning promotion this season, plenty of attention will also be placed on finding a replacement.

And Chairman of the club’s supporters group, John Homer, waded into the debate today, saying that whoever is appointed must be ready to use the club’s youth system more readily.

“Bringing young players through should be the first priority for a new manager coming in.”
