Nathan Ferguson's deadline day move from West Brom to Crystal Palace collapsed when the two clubs involved, failed to agree on the severity of a knee injury that was highlighted in the 19-year-old's medical, according to a report by The Athletic,  with the Eagles feeling that the injury would require surgery, ruling the player out for the remainder of the season.

Ferguson had been in great form for the Baggies this season, with the youngster making 21 league appearances in what has been his break-through campaign, but with his contract up in the summer the Baggies had hoped to sell him for a fee in the January transfer window.

In light of the transfer collapse, do you feel Ferguson will feature much for West Brom for the remainder of the season?

We discuss.........

George Harbey

"I can't see Ferguson featuring too much for West Brom this season despite his huge amount of quality and potential.

"Not only does his injury seem pretty serious and his fitness levels are apparently nowhere near good enough, but his mindset would be the worrying thing for me, as he has had his heart set on a move to Palace.

"Darnell Furlong is a very good right-back and he has gone from strength to strength under Bilic, whilst Conor Townsend seems to be improving on the other side in the absence of Kieran Gibbs.

"There is no harm in having Ferguson there is back-up, but I think that ship has sailed now, and we can all expect him to leave in the summer whether that be to Spurs or Palace."

Josh Cole

"This is a tough one for West Brom as whilst there is no doubting Ferguson's talent, he has demonstrated clear signs that he wants to leave the Hawthorns.

"With his existing deal set to expire in the summer, the defender has refused to agree to fresh terms with the Baggies and looked destined to move to Crystal Palace before an issue with his knee saw him fail a medical last Friday.

"When you consider that Bilic has the likes of Lee Peltier, Darnell Furlong and Conor Townsend at this disposal, it could be argued that West Brom may be able to cope without Ferguson in the coming months.

"Therefore, unless the teenager opts to commit his long-term future to the club, it could be argued that the Baggies ought to snub him as he could have a negative impact in the dressing room."

Chris Thorpe

"There is no reason why he wouldn't, particularly as the full back has been one of the club's brighter players this term after coming through the academy ranks.

"No one would have begrudged the player for wanting to play in the Premier League as it is always the aim for many a young professional.

"Ultimately his move to Palace didn't come off and as a result he will be plying his trade under Slaven Bilic at West Brom until at least the summer, with the player sure to be keen to give his all for his boyhood club once he returns to full fitness.

"Baggies fans will no doubt rally behind the teenager over the coming months as they know he could play a crucial role in the run in towards a possible promotion."
