Leeds United are looking to secure a loan agreement with Chelsea for goalkeeper Jamal Blackman, with Leeds’ hopes of signing Angus Gunn now out of the picture, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Is Blackman a good acquisition for Leeds? Should they be looking elsewhere for goalkeepers?
This is a strong signing.
Leeds definitely needed to strengthen in goal and Blackman was one of the best goalkeepers in the division last season.
He is a perfect short-term solution between the sticks and it can give Bailey Peacock-Farrell one more year before he is fully ready to assume permanent duties.
It’s not just the right decision, but it is a vital one.
Leeds need two things right now; a keeper and a morale boosting new deal.
It’s been a tough week at Elland Road and it’s only Tuesday. Signing Blackman might ease the pressure a bit.
He’s the right man to bring in alongside Peacock-Farrell.
The two don’t have much experience, but together will drive each other on throughout the season.
For me, it’s the right move.
Blackman would be a fine signing.
He knows the league well and was one of the better stoppers in it last season.
He’ll be looking to quickly impose himself if he arrives.
