With Norwich City sitting on the brink of promotion to the Premier League, reports from the Daily Mail claim that Daniel Farke is set to be given a transfer budget of £20m in the summer.

The German manager certainly knows a bargain when he sees one, having signed Championship Player of the Year Teemu Pukki on a free transfer from Brondby last summer, despite selling James Maddison to Leicester City for a reported fee of £22million.

And it seems that Farke will have to work his magic once again next year, with the Norfolk club set to give him a budget of £20million next season, with promotion to the Premier League now looking inevitable.

The Canaries will be keen to avoid the trap that Fulham fell into at the start of this season - the London club spent around £100million on redeveloping their squad in the summer, but have been relegated to the Championship straight away.

Here, we discuss this latest piece of news...

George Harbey

"This is a smart move.

"The last thing that Farke will want to do is unsettle his squad, especially after such a remarkable season thus far.

"He has worked very well without funds before, and he should just take a look at Fulham to know that you don't necessarily have to spend big in the Premier League to survive."

Ben Lang

"This seems an extremely tight budget given the number of improvements needed to compete in the Premier League.

"Farke's side have taken the Championship by storm this season, but four consecutive draws of late reveals they have some restraints.

"The club needs to strengthen across all areas and £20m will not get them much in this market. I think they might struggle to survive with this budget."

Jacob Potter

"They're destined for relegation.

"There is absolutely no way that they will survive in the Premier League if they are to have a budget of just £20m.

"If Fulham can't survive after spending over £100m, then Norwich aren't going to do well next season.

"They need more funds available, and fast."
