Ipswich Town completed their third signing of the summer on Tuesday with Peterborough United winger Gwion Edwards making the short move to Portman Road.

The Welshman moved to the Posh from Crawley Town in the summer of 2016 and went on to make 74 appearances for them, scoring 16 goals and assisting nine.

He missed a large part of last season with a knee injury suffered in mid-December, only making his return to the pitch in April.

Peterborough have accepted a cut-price six-figure offer for the winger as he entered the last year of his contract and made it known that he would not be signing a new one.

So is the 25-year-old a good signing for the Tractor Boys?

We discuss...

Gary Hutchinson

It's a risk, Edwards in League One proven but he didn't stand out like Maddison did last season.

Ipswich need to shop in that market though and they may have found themselves a bargain.

Jay Williams

Edwards is a decent catch for Ipswich in a relatively cheap deal.

He seems ready to step up to Championship level after weighing in with goals and assists consistently in the lower leagues.

If Paul Hurst can get him replicating his Peterborough form at Ipswich, then they have a top option out wide.

Sam Rourke

This is a shrewd signing.

Edwards is a tricky winger that could cause some real damage in the Championship.

Town fans will need to be patient and let him adapt to the second tier, but in time, he can be a real weapon for Ipswich.

Louie Chandler

This is a clever signing from Paul Hurst.

Gwion is an exciting winger and a relentless runner with the technical ability to match.

He is a bargain at the rumoured six-figure fee and if he can stay fit he is more than good enough to cut it in the Championship.
