Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi is in the market to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window and has been linked with a move for Huddersfield Town winger Adama Diakhaby, according to a report by Sun journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

Diakhaby arrived at the John Smith's Stadium at the start of their final season in the top-flight but has fallen out of favour since Danny Cowley’s arrival at the club last year.

So would Diakhaby be a good addition at the City Ground and is he needed?

We discuss.........

"To a certain extent you can understand why Sabri Lamouchi has gone for the French winger as he looks to bolster his attacking options, but is he really a player that can improve Forest?

"Diakhaby has featured 18 times for Huddersfield and has two assists, no goals - hardly the type of form that will excite Forest fans.

"A natural winger, Diakhaby could provide competition on left or right flank - but those have not been problem areas for Forest.

"Lamouchi needs a striker and one who comes with a good goal scoring record."

"I think another winger is certainly needed at the City Ground this month given how they only have three over both the left and right wings.

"Whether Diakhaby is the right man to do that job is another question, however.

"In 18 games this season he has registered three assists, which is not bad by any means considering how poor The Terriers have been and that he has only started a handful of those games.

"So he could certainly do a job for Lamouchi. The issue probably remains over whether they could get someone better in who can push the likes of Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi a bit harder."

Dean Cooke

"This is a really interesting link and one that not too many Nottingham Forest or Huddersfield supporters would have seen coming in the current transfer window.

"Diakhaby is a player who has a lot of potential and in brief stints has shown he has the talent to be one of the better attackers in the division. If he could gain some consistency he'd be a good signing for the club and could rival Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi to the wide positions.

"The price tag that Huddersfield bought him for may mean that Forest struggle to get him for a cheap fee, but if Danny Cowley doesn't see him in his plans then it could be a feasible arrival.

"If Forest are aiming for the Premier League then there money could be used better elsewhere as Diakhaby wouldn't actually be an improvement on the current set of players at the club."
