It was reported last week by TEAMtalk that Aston Villa and Middlesbrough were currently locked in a battle to sign former Crystal Palace winger and free agent Bakary Sako.

The 30-year-old left Palace at the end of last season, but is clearly not short of suitors in the second-tier of English football.

He made 124 appearances during a three-year spell with Wolves, where he impressed in the Championship.

But should another club move for the winger and challenge the pair for his signature?

That is the question we put to Leeds United fans on Twitter...

57% of voters said that their club should attempt to hijack the deal and bring Sako to Elland Road instead.

But are they correct? Should Leeds be making a move? We discuss...

I’m surprised Leeds’ supporters are torn on this as Sako would be a great addition at Elland Road.

Leeds’ squad has some serious attacking talent, but Sako would add so much on the left.

If Leeds made their move and landed his signature, you could really see them securing promotion.

George Harbey

Sako hasn’t had too much game time over the last year, which is worrying, however, if either club can get him back to full fitness, they have a shrewd signing on their hands.

Leeds need Sako more than Villa do after the recent signings of El-Ghazi and Bolasie, so I don’t see much point in the signing on Villa's part.

Louie Chandler

This is a no-brainer.

A player of Bakary Sako's quality as a free-agent would be a brilliant deal and I could see the winger favouring a move to Elland Road as well.

Villa are heaving with wingers, and Sako's skills would be utilised much more at Leeds.
