Nottingham Forest get back to action this weekend when they make the trip to the Liberty Stadium to face current Championship leader's Swansea City, with Sabri Lamouchi's side looking to build on their solid start to the season, that sees them in 10th spot in the table.

Lamouchi is also planning for the future, following a report by the Daily Telegraph via the Nottingham Post, that indicates that Forest are in talks with attacking midfielder Brennan Johnson over a new long-term deal.

The youngster has made three appearances so far this season for Lamouchi's side, and seemingly looks like a player that could have a bright future after what was an impressive pre-season as well.

So is a new deal for Brennan, good business by Forest?

We discuss........

Chris Gallagher

"A very good and sensible move.

"Forest have shown regularly over recent years that they have a really talented academy and Johnson is the latest player to break through.

"Of course, it's early days and there's no need to heap pressure on the youngster but Sabri Lamouchi is clearly a fan and he has shown when given a chance that he has real quality.

"Therefore, it's a no-brainer for the Reds and they will want to sort this as soon as possible to allow Johnson to concentrate on his football and to try and break into the XI.

"From the players perspective, he should see Forest as the right club to continue his development and you would imagine a new deal will be agreed pretty quickly."

George Dagless

"Yes.

"He's a good young player and we're starting to hear a little bit more about him so it makes sense for Forest to try and secure him on a new deal.

"Even if the Reds end up having to let him go, at least if he is on a new deal they'll be able to maximise what they get for him.

"It's a case of future planning by getting him onto a new agreement and I think the sooner they manage to do that the better."

Jacob Potter

"This is a no-brainer.

"Johnson has really impressed me this season with the Reds, and the club will be eager for him to remain with them for as long as possible.

"He looks as though he’s got a bright future ahead of him and scored for the Wales’ under 21’s side against Belgium recently.

"I’m not sure he’ll be a regular under Sabri Lamouchi this season for Forest, but the club clearly rate him highly if they’re looking to resolves his long-term future as soon as possible.

"The sooner they get a new deal in place for him, the better.

"I expect clubs to be chasing him in the near future, so Forest have to act quickly to tie him down to a long-term contract."
