Birmingham City are likely to be hunting for a new goalkeeper this summer with Tomasz Kuszczak and David Stockdale both linked with exits.

Leeds United have been linked with a move for Stockdale while Kuszczak has been told he is free to leave.

Would Bournemouth goalkeeper Adam Federici sort things out at Birmingham?

The Australian stopper is down the pecking order with Eddie Howe and could move to the Championship this summer.

Federici has struggled to properly assert himself since his move to AFC Bournemouth, so a move away this summer could happen, and Birmingham would be a great move.

The Blues are in desperate need of goalkeeping reinforcements and the experienced Australian would provide a calm, solid pair of hands between the sticks.

Having won promotion with Reading, Federici knows what it takes to get out of the second tier.

Louie Chandler

This is a no-brainer. Birmingham need a goalkeeper and Federici will be keen to start playing regular football again.

The 33-year-old has an abundance of experience in the Championship and is the exact sort of character Garry Monk should be looking at to fill the goalkeeping void.

Federici is a solid Championship-standard goalkeeper but is he an upgrade on Stockdale?

I believe the Blues should give the 32-year-old another chance rather than bringing in another goalkeeper because he is experienced and proven at Championship level, despite having an up and down season.

But if they do decide to shift Stockdale - perhaps because of his high wages - then Federici would be an excellent replacement.
