Winger Kazenga LuaLua has rejoined Luton Town, as confirmed on the Hatters club website.

The length of LuaLua's deal with the Hatters has not been disclosed but the 28-year-old former Newcastle United and Brighton forward returns, having helped Luton win promotion to the Championship last term, scoring three goals in 28 games.

So how big a boost for Luton is the re-signing of LuaLua?

We discuss.........

Jacob Potter

"It’s a huge boost for the Hatters heading into the new season.

"LuaLua certainly played his part in their promotion to the Championship last term, and supporters will be delighted to see him return to the club.

"He scored two goals in 22 appearances for Luton last season, and I think he’s more than good enough to play to a high standard in the Championship.

"His experience of playing at this level earlier in his career will come in handy, and Luton will be reliant on him to provide the creative spark going forward.

"I still think they’ll struggle in their first season back in the Championship, but with LuaLua in their team, they could surprise a few teams in next year’s league campaign."

George Harbey

“This is arguably one of the most important bits of business Luton do all year, and it will give them a massive boost going into the new season.

“LuaLua was incredible for the Hatters last season – signing him on a free transfer was terrific business, and you could tell that he was a level above the rest in League One.

“It would have come as a massive blow when it was announced that he wouldn’t be signing a new deal, but now that is all put to bed, it’s a big, big boost.

“I genuinely think Luton could surprise a few teams this season – they are building a decent squad, and keeping LuaLua will be beneficial.

Ned Holmes

“This is a massive boost for Graeme Jones' side.

“LuaLua was fantastic for Luton once he got going last season and if he can continue that form he should be a key player again moving forward.

“With Jack Stacey and James Justin gone the Hatters have lost two of their most important creative outlets, which makes the 28-year-old’s return all the more important.

“LuaLua played less than a third of the minutes of either of the full-backs last season and still provided nine assists, the same amount as Justin and one more than Stacey.

“He should be also a great player to have in the squad given his experience at Championship level.

“Luton will need players who understand what is necessary to thrive at this level and the winger has exactly that, with 166 appearances to his name in the second flight of English football.”
