Adam Forshaw will miss the start of Leeds United’s season after picking up an injury prior to the win against Las Palmas in their final pre-season friendly.

The midfielder picked up a toe injury before the Las Palmas pre-season friendly win.

The midfielder general that Leeds will need this season was influential for the Whites last season in a season that ultimately ended in disappointment in a 13th placed finish.

Forshaw is vastly experienced at Championship level and will be a key player for Marco Bielsa this season as he adjusts to life in the second tier after his appointment in the summer.

With the news that Forshaw looking set to be out of action for the Leeds for the long-term, will it be a blow for Bielsa and the club with the new season only one week away?

We discuss…

Jay Williams

This is a major blow for Leeds because Forshaw was set to play a key part in this upcoming campaign.

After being used a lot in pre-season, it was clear that the former Middlesbrough midfielder was a big part of Marcelo Bielsa's plans.

But it could be worse for Leeds as they have the likes of Mateusz Klich, Lewis Baker, Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips who can step in for Forshaw.

George Dagless

It is.

He's one of their best players and a real leader so they'll miss him.

They'll be hoping the likes of Mateusz Klich can continue his pre-season form in his place

Sam Rourke

This is real bad news for Leeds.

Forshaw is the anchor in that Whites midfield and is so important at keeping the team ticking over.

His presence in the middle will be seriously missed.

Louie Chandler

Massive blow.

Forshaw looked set to play a big role in Bielsa's midfield this season and with the weak transfer window they have had it magnifies the problem more.

They now have even more work to do this summer which is really the last thing they need.
