Cardiff City have sold Declan John to Glasgow Rangers, as confirmed by the club's official Twitter account.

The young defender had been on loan at Rangers for the first half of the season, establishing himself as a regular at the back in the absence of skipper Lee Wallace.

After playing fourteen games and scoring two goals for the Gers, Declan John has now penned a permanent deal with the club and he has signed a three and a half year contract, keeping him at Ibrox until the summer of 2021.

The 22-year-old had played over 50 games for Cardiff, including 20 in the Premier League, but had fallen down the pecking order under Neil Warnock.

With Joe Bennett as Warnock's first choice left back, John has decided to leave for first team football.

The twice-capped Wales international now moves to the Scottish Premiership.

Here are how the Cardiff fans reacted to his departure on Twitter.
