‘This is a joke’, ‘Good move for him’ – Contrasting reactions from Middlesbrough fans to latest announcement

Middlesbrough today confirmed that exciting young winger Marcus Tavernier would be joining MK Dons on loan for the remainder of the season.
Best of luck to @Tavernier60, who will spend the rest of the season on loan at @MKDonsFC ✍????

The 18-year old has been a real positive in what has been a generally disappointing season for the Teesside club.
Tavernier initially made an impact in the Carabao Cup and soon found himself in the first-team for Championship fixtures. Undoubtedly his best moment came when he scored the winner against local rivals Sunderland in a 1-0 win.
Whilst he made that breakthrough under previous manager Garry Monk, opportunities have been hard to come by since Tony Pulis was appointed and the youngster hasn’t made a match day squad since Boxing Day.
Therefore, the club decided that it would be in his best interests to move on and he has joined Robbie Neilson’s side until the end of the season.
Given his impact earlier in the campaign, there has been a mixed reaction to this news from the Boro fans.
Here’s how they responded on twitter…
Good luck to the lad. Hopefully he can get some game time and develop some consistency, and mk get some benefit too! #utb

Yes he scored against Sunderland showed me real glimpses of what he could do in the future. I think some regular game time is what he needs. He's not really a contender in the squad. To reach his max he needs to be playing all the time.
