Leeds United have confirmed that young striker Mallik Wilks has joined League Two side Grimsby Town on loan until the end of the season.

The youngster joins the north-east outfit after a spell at Accrington Stanley, and he'll be hoping to stave off the threat of relegation for the League Two side.

Is this a good move for all parties involved?

We discuss....

Adam Simeoni

Wilks is a promising player with a lot of potential, and another League Two loan spell will do him the world of good.

Wilks is ready for action following his spell with Accrington, and Leeds fans will closely watch his progress at Grimsby over the next few months.

George Dagless

I think he'll be a good signing for Grimsby.

The League Two side need goals in their battle to stay away from the relegation zone and Wilks should get a fair few.

He needs to be playing football and knows the league so he should be hungry enough to prove himself in the coming months.

Alfie Burns

This is a good move all round, with Wilks seemingly not ready for first-team football in the Championship.

If Wilks’ opportunities were to be limited by Christiansen, a loan back to the lower leagues was the logical step for Leeds to take.

Wilks now has another opportunity to impress, which if he does, could open the door for him next season at Elland Road.

Chris Gallagher

This is a good move for the youngster, Leeds and Grimsby.

He had been at Accrington but wasn't getting the regular football he needs, that should come at Grimsby.

It's all about developing his game and becoming the player many think he can be and competitive football in League Two is much better for that than playing in Leeds U23 side.
