Leeds are monitoring Ostersunds duo Hosam Aiesh and Dino Islamovic, according to Swedish outlet FotbollDirekt.

Marcelo Bielsa is looking to increase his attacking options ahead of the new season, as he looks to go one better on last season's third place finish.

The versatile Aiesh can play up-front or on the wing, and would suit the flexible style that Bielsa has utilised so far at Leeds. The 24-year-old has scored 6 goals in 63 appearances for Ostersunds, including the first in their Europa League win against Arsenal in 2018.

Of the pair Islamovic is the clinical in front of goal. He has four goals in 12 appearances this season, which is currently ongoing in Sweden. That means Ostersunds are unlikely to sell either this summer unless a good deal is offered by Leeds.

Leeds could be in for a summer of movement, with players like Kemar Roofe linked with moves away. If that happens, a new striker would be a welcome addition to the squad, and if Bielsa likes what he hears from scouting reports then Islamovic could be on his way to Elland road.

The news may come as a surprise to Leeds fans, but here's what our writers think about the interest:

Gary Hutchinson

“My first thought is ‘who?’

“That won’t satisfy their fans at all. They sound more like Thomas Christiansen signings than anything.

“Leeds supporters will want recognised names.

“At least there are two of them, they need numbers too, but the quality has to be there.”

Toby Wilding

"This is a bit of an eyebrow raiser.
"There is no doubt that Leeds will want and need to strengthen in the summer transfer window, but I wonder whether their fans will have been expecting some more established and high profile links to begin with.
"I wouldn't have said either players recent record is outstanding by any stretch, but plucking players from obscurity has worked for Norwich recently, so it may well do the same for Leeds too."
George Brooks
"These could be two good signings for Leeds.
"Aiesh can play both up front and out wide, while Islamovic is a powerful striker and would provide good competition for the likes of Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford.
"Bielsa will be looking to bolster his attacking options ahead of next season and this would be a great way to do that."
