Harry Redknapp has turned Birmingham City on its head since joining the club towards the end of last season, and will hope the changes implemented this summer will be enough to see his side rise to a top half finish.

A number of new faces have joined the club in recent months, but more are sure to follow before the transfer window closes in September, and one man the former Spurs boss should look to target is Lee Chung-yong of Crystal Palace.

The South Korean international has just a year remaining on his deal at Selhurst Park, and could look to move this summer in search of regular first team action.

The winger was restricted in his game time last year, and with new boss Frank de Boer keen to bring in his own men this summer, Chung-yong could certainly become surplus to requirements in the coming weeks.

The 29-year-old enjoyed a solid spell with Bolton before linking up with the Eagles, and a move to Redknapp’s Birmingham may certainly appeal to the player.

It is clear Redknapp is trying to do great things with the Blues, and to work under such an experienced, respected manager is an opportunity many would struggle to refuse.

Chung-yong is a solid winger who works hard both on and off the ball, and although his time with Palace has been somewhat underwhelming, he could certainly find himself once more in the Championship.

In his late twenties, Chung-yong needs to find regular minutes, and with Birmingham in the market to bolster their squad, a move could work for all involved.

How many more signings do you need this summer, Blues fans?
