‘This hurts’, ‘Can’t wait to have you back’ – Many Sheffield Wednesday fans react to fresh player update

Sheffield Wednesday defender Dom Iorfa has reached out to supporters after his successful Achilles surgery and many fans of the Yorkshire club have been quick to send him messages of encouragement.
Iorfa suffered the injury in the Owls’ 2-1 loss to Barnsley on the 12th of December and it looks as though he may not return until next season.
The 25-year-old took to Twitter to send a message to fans after undergoing surgery, revealing that it had gone well and thanking the Hillsborough faithful for their support.
Surgery done, all went well. Feeling a bit drowsy as you can tell by my lazy eyes 😅
Thanks again for all the messages💪🏾 pic.twitter.com/V0pgA2MyCi

The central defender’s absence is a huge blow for Tony Pulis and the Owls, having been a key man for the club last term and a mainstay in the side when fit this season.
Iorfa joined from Wolves in January 2019 but it was not until the start of the 2019/20 campaign that he really proved his quality in Wednesday colours.
Such were the quality of the defender’s performances that he was named the Yorkshire club’s player of the year last season.
Unfortunately, Pulis men now look set to be without him as they look to secure their Championship future this term.
Have any of these 22 players ever been in Sheffield Wednesday’s academy?
The 25-year-old is clearly a popular figure among Wednesday fans, with many taking to Twitter to send messages of encouragement after his recent post.
