The play-off chase looks set to be one of the tightly contested in years, and that is before we even get to the drama of the event itself.

Whilst Aston Villa have secured their spot, the likes of Middlesbrough, Derby County, Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday will all still harbour hopes of sneaking one too.

This week, however, Boro chairman Steve Gibson reiterated his demands for an investigation into potential breaches of Financial Fair Play rules from Wednesday, Villa and Derby, according to the Telegraph.

Club representatives are set to meet at Nottingham Forest's City Ground on Wednesday afternoon where the issue is set to be thrashed out.

So, should the fans actually be worried?

We discuss...

Ben Lang

"These clubs should definitely be concerned by this development.

"It looked uncertain whether Gibson would be able to muster support for his claims, but this revelation proves that his argument must have some weight.

"However, I think the main problem is the structured financial disparity between the Premier League and Championship, as opposed to the Championship clubs who are chasing the money."

Toby Wilding

"This has to be a concern.

"It will be difficult for the EFL to ignore the protestations of and what is now claimed to be a number of Championship clubs, and they have already set a precedent for any subsequent with Birmingham's point deduction earlier in the year."

George Harbey

"I think the whole thing has been blown massively out of proportion to be honest.

"I don’t see what Wednesday, Villa and Derby have done that is so different to anyone else - they’ve hardly spent over the odds this season.

"Perhaps Gibson should concentrate on hiring a manager who plays the right style of football for his players, instead."
