Michael Dawson's return to the club was a welcome sight for Nottingham Forest fans.

The 34-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the club after leaving Hull City as a free agent. He is Aitor Karanka's first signing of the summer as the Spaniard aims to continue his overhaul of the club, which started in the January transfer window, ahead of his first full season in charge.

Forest will be hoping that Dawson can inspire them to a promotion push from his position in the heart of the defence with his leadership and organisational skills being key on and off the pitch. He was captain of the Hull side which won the Championship Play-Off Final in the 2015/16 season, so he has experience in this regard, and he knows this club well from his prior spell when he graduated through the academy.

His first interview with the club focused on the high expectations for next season, his role in the squad next season as well as how he has much he has changed since his previous spell and his memories from that period.
