Many Derby supporters have been reacting to the Rams reaching an agreement with Aston Villa over the potential signing of forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy on loan for the rest of the season, according to the Football Insider.

Hepburn-Murphy has spent the first half of the season out on loan at League One Tranmere Rovers, where he managed to make 17 appearances in the league and score four goals, but the 21-year-old has delivered some inconsistent displays during his time with the League One club and has not featured for them since Boxing Day.

In now seems that his loan move at Tranmere will be cut short so that he can make the move to Pride Park for the rest of the campaign, which will see the Rams finally able to add to their attacking options after Phillip Cocu’s side have already allowed both Jamie Paterson and Kieran Dowell to return to their parent clubs.

The Rams’ need for another forward was also heightened by them allowing Mason Bennett to leave the club on loan for Millwall, and Hepburn-Murphy should offer similar tactical flexibility to the 23-year-old given he can play across the forward line in either the wide positions or up front.

However, considering his inconsistency for Tranmere during the first half of the campaign, some Derby fans have been questioning whether he would be able to come into the side and make a real impact during the rest of the season.

Here then, we take a look at what Derby fans have had to say about Hepburn-Murphy’s potential arrival on social media…
