Having scored just 48 goals in the Championship this season, Birmingham City will be hoping to bolster their front line, and bring in some new goal-scoring threats.

The 21-year-old Che Adams finished the Blues top goal scorer this season, with an underwhelming 9 goals to his name.

Garry Monk will be hoping to entice potential transfer targets to St Andrews with the promise of first team football and free flowing football. Something the Birmingham City faithful haven’t seen in a number of years.

While the 39-year-old manager’s side isn’t completely devoid of goal scoring talent, a couple of adjustments and additions need to be made this summer, if the Blues are to avoid yet another relegation battle next season.

The introduction of a central front man and a new winger could be the defining factor in why Birmingham City can finally get out of the rut they have found themselves in this campaign.

Jacques Maghoma was arguably the Blues' best player last season and should keep his place in the side regardless of who comes in.

He's got pace and trickery out wide and regularly puts a shift in. An improved side around him should see things really kick on on an individual level.

Birmingham City have strike power through the middle of their front line with Lukas Jutkiewicz and Che Adams, but Monk is likely to want to bring in an out and out goal scorer.

Peterborough’s star striker Jack Marriott scored 33 goals in all competitions this season, and with other clubs bound to be interested in the 23-year-old, the Blues may face some stiff competition if they are to attempt to sign the prolific goal scorer.

Callum O’Dowda started off this season so promisingly for Bristol City, but after his injury in December last year, missed the majority of the season, starting just 13 games for Lee Johnson’s side.

The 23-year-old winger has what it takes to provide the Birmingham City side with a bit flair that they have been missing this season.

O’Dowda already has seven appearances at international level to his name, representing the Republic of Ireland throughout their World Cup qualifying rounds.
