It certainly hasn't taken long for Harry Redknapp to become a firm favourite at Birmingham City as his early transfer dealings have left nothing but positive feelings in the squad ahead of the new Championship season.

Of course, the Blues still need to reinforce their ranks as they prepare for a hectic ten months ahead, if they are to mount a promotion push to make a long-awaited return to the top-flight.

The additions of promotion winning goalkeeper David Stockdale, supporters' best-loved midfielder Craig Gardner and highly-rated defender Marc Roberts have excited the fans but they still need to up the numbers in certain positions.

Which is why I suggest Redknapp should make a move to bring Arsenal's outcast defensive man Krystian Bielik back to St. Andrew's as he looks forward to the forthcoming campaign.

Originally thought to be a holding midfielder, the Polish prospect has reinvented himself as a centre-back.

This suits him as he stands at 6ft 2in tall and he impressed during his recent loan stint at Birmingham City.

The 19-year-old was an integral member of the Blues' bid to survive the drop to the third-tier after Redknapp deployed Bielik as a midfielder to protect the defence on their final outing of last season.

He also made ten appearances for the West Midlands outfit in their struggling and frustrating term last year which will be swiftly forgotten about with a new dawn on the horizon.

He may not be a starter for the manager this season but Krystian Bielik is a solid back-up to have on the bench in order to add physicality to the game as well as protect much-needed three points.
