Respected Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has played down reports that Leeds United are interested in Peterborough striker Marcus Maddision.

The 24-year-old striker looks set to leave the Posh during the loan transfer window, but after a brief conversation on Twitter with a Leeds fan, Hay moved to quash any talk of Marcus Maddison coming in during this window.

So what are pro's and con's of the move?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

It doesn’t surprise me.

I think Peterborough have cost themselves in the Maddison race. The media machine has been in full effect and I’m not sure clubs want to talk to them.

If they do, the chairman splashes it all over social media and now they’ve got the bluster of Evans when talking transfer fees too.

Leeds don’t need him anyway, he’s proven nothing at this level.

Jay Taylor

Whether he goes to Leeds or not, Marcus Maddison will leave Peterborough during the loan window.

Leeds had been linked for the attacking player but with the news the interest has cooled, I see this as a bluff.

Maddison would fit perfectly into Marcelo Bielsa's system and the club would be crazy not to try and get the Peterborough man in.

Sam Rourke

This doesn't surprise me.

Maddison is a class attacking player but I just cannot see him getting into Bielsa's starting XI.

It would be a shame to see a talent such as Maddison, not being given frequent game-time in the second tier.

George Dagless

Hay has said this all along so you're tempted to believe him.

He knows the club better than most and so there's no reason to doubt his suggestion it won't happen.

I think he'd be a good signing for them for what it's worth though.
