West Bromwich Albion have made an enquiry for Tottenham Hotspur forward Vincent Janssen, as per reports from Football Fancast.

The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at the North London club, and after making just three Premier League appearances last season, a move could well be on the cards this summer.

The Dutch forward has scored just six goals in 42 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side since his arrival from AZ Alkmaar in 2016, but has now reportedly emerged as a target for Slaven Bilic's West Brom.

Bilic has made just one signing thus far this summer, with Filip Krovinovic arriving on a season-long loan deal from Benfica, but a new striker will definitely be on the Croatian's transfer radar.

The Baggies will be looking to replace both Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle this summer, but with Kenneth Zohore set to sign from Cardiff City, Janssen could also make the switch to The Hawthorns.

Here, we discuss whether he would be a good signing for West Brom...

George Harbey

"In my view, this doesn't scream ambition at all. Albion need to make a big statement of intent in replacing Rodriguez and Gayle, and Janssen just isn't that.

"His goalscoring record for Spurs is dismal, he doesn't look like he suits English football, and I think it would be a waste of time if West Brom were to go out and sign him.

"Kenneth Zohore is a decent signing, but they need a player who is quick and able to play off him, but someone who is also proven at this level.

"After such a torrid spell with Spurs, Janssen is likely to be shot of any confidence, and there are much better options out there for them."

Toby Wilding

"I can see this being a good signing for West Brom.

"Following the departures of Jay Rodriguez and Salomon Rondon, the Baggies are badly in need of some attacking options heading into the new season, with Hal Robson-Kanu the club's only remaining established senior striker.

"Janssen's record at Spurs is pretty poor, but his goals return in Holland's top flight certainly suggests that he there is a striker who can find the net in there somewhere, and that is exactly what West Brom need right now.

"This may not be the cheapest deal for West Brom to pull off, but given the current mood around the club, spending the money needed to bring the striker to the Hawthorns could be just the boost to the mood that Baggies fans need right now."

Jacob Potter

"This would be an interesting one to say the least!

"Janssen evidently hasn't got much of a future at Spurs, and it's only a matter of time before he leaves the club permanently.

"But a loan move to West Brom would be the ideal move for both parties, as I can see him getting the game time he needs to see his confidence grow.

"If he can recapture the form that saw him earn a move to Spurs in the first place, then the Baggies will have an excellent striking option on their hands.

"With him in their side, I can see them making a timely return to the Premier League."
