Football League World's West Bromwich Albion fan pundit Justin Alvino would welcome the signing of Cardiff City striker Kenneth Zohore after reports of an agreed bid emerged.

John Percy of the Telegraph reported on Wednesday morning that the Dane was set for a medical at the Hawthorns after an £8million fee was agreed and although Alvino is pleased he accepts that it will not be enough.

"I think that this is an important signing for our side," the regular punter told Football League World.

"But not something that is going to be a game-changer.

"Zahore is a solid Championship striker but is not a replacement to what we had last year. Bilic wants to play two at the top but I don't see us being successful with Zahore and [Hal Robson-] Kanu as our best two options."

The 25-year-old impressed in Cardiff's promotion-winning season of 2017/18, scoring nine goals and assisting five more in 36 appearances as Neil Warnock's side finished second.

However, he quickly fell out of favour in the top-flight and scored just once in 19 appearances and the Blue Birds now willing to move him on.

And whilst Alvino believes he is a solid acquisition he believes much more still needs to be done in strengthening the attacking third this summer after the departures of Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez.

"I think he could be complemented by a different striker, one that can keep the ball up front," he said.

"But this does not solve our striking problems, although it certainly helps.

"Hopefully we can get the ball rolling with this signing and we can bring more people in to strengthen every position at the club."
