Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa needs all the options he can get from his streamlined squad, so will be frustrated to hear that attacking midfielder Izzy Brown has picked up an injury whilst appearing for the U23's as reported on Leeds Live.

Brown was getting close to his first team debut having been out with a long-term injury since arriving at Elland Road in the summer.

But after coming off in the 34th minute of an U23 match against Barnsley with a suspected hamstring injury, everyone at the club will be hoping the Chelsea loanee will not be sidelined long-term.

So how big a worry is the Brown injury for Leeds?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

Of course, it could just be a knock or strain but given the number of injuries the Under 23 side have had this season, it’s massive.

With Saiz on the move too, this could be seriously damaging.

There’s hope it isn’t a long one, but if it is people will question the continued involvement of players at Under 23 level.

Alfie Burns

It seems precautionary, but his fitness is undoubtedly a worry at this stage.

Brown is edging his way back to fitness and these kind of things are bound to happen.

I suppose it is all part of the comeback trail.

Jacob Potter

It’s a huge worry.

Even though it didn’t look like a serious one, there will be concerns about his fitness in general heading into the New Year.

Brown needs to prove his worth to Marcelo Bielsa as quickly as possible, as if he can get match fit, he can fill the void left by Samuel Saiz.

George Harbey

I don’t think it’s a worry.

Latest reports claim that the substitution was only precautionary, so he should be okay.

It is a huge risk playing him in these type of games, however.
