Aston Villa could be without Jack Grealish for a crucial period, with the midfielder waiting to discover the extent of the injury that forced him from the field during Friday’s draw with West Brom.

Grealish limped off late in the 2-2 draw, with the Birmingham Mail revealing that Villa are now waiting to learn how serious the 23-year-old’s setback is.

Fixtures at Villa Park against Stoke City and Leeds United take Villa into Christmas, with the hectic festive period then taking centre stage.

So, with Grealish in a race against time to be fit, how much of a worry is it?

We discuss…

Gary Hutchinson

I’m not so sure it is.

Under Bruce I might have agreed, but with the talent at their disposal I think they can accommodate this injury.

Let’s be honest, he hasn’t set the division on fire this season, has he?

If it were John McGinn, I’d be more worried for them.

Louie Chandler

It's certainly a big blow.

Villa have plenty of options in attack but no one else who does the job that Grealish does, and certainly to nowhere near as high a standard as him.

Stoke are in great form at the moment as well, so may smell blood.

George Harbey

Grealish is such a important player for Villa and this could be huge for Smith.

Although he may not have racked up as many assists he would have liked this season, he’s often the catalyst of their attacks.

Villa fans will be praying that he’s not out for too long over the hectic Christmas period.

Alfie Burns

John McGinn and Conor Hourihane mean that Villa won’t be short of good options, but it’s still a worry.

Grealish is a great player and would be seriously missed, particularly against the likes of Stoke and Leeds.

Smith is sure to give him every chance to prove his fitness.
