Birmingham City are weighing up a swoop for Wes Hoolahan who is set to depart Norwich City this summer, according to the Irish Sun.

Would the 35-year-old attacking midfielder be a good signing for Garry Monk's side?

We discuss....

Jay Williams

Wes Hoolahan is experienced and skilful - he probably has at least one more year in him at this level. Birmingham need a creative spark in midfield and the Irishman is someone who can make something happen.

On a free and one year deal, what's the risk?

George Dagless

He'd be a good addition.

He might be getting on in age but he has great class and would certainly add something to the Blues.

He brings quality on the ball and with that he doesn't need to be young and running everywhere to have an impact.

This could be a very shrewd signing.

Chris Gallagher

I don't think so.

The Irish international has been superb at Norwich over the years but I can't see how he will have a major impact at any Championship side now.

Birmingham do need a creative midfielder but they should be aiming for better if they have ambitions to be competing in the top half of the league next season.

Gary Hutchinson

The move will only make sense if it is an expanded role, player coach or something like that.

Norwich are getting rid for a reason, he's 35-years old and they're worried a new deal won't be worth their money. Are Birmingham better placed to take a gamble?

He's been a great servant and he will bring value wherever he goes, but not solely as a footballer.
