Millwall manager Neil Harris looks to have strengthened his squad ahead of the forthcoming Championship campaign having agreed a fee for Reading striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, as reported in The Sun.

The 27-year-old Icelander will reportedly be heading to the Den in a £750,000 deal, having scored 14 goals in 53 appearances over two seasons at the Madejski Stadium.

So is Bodvarsson a good signing for Millwall?

We discuss........

George Brooks

“This could be a smart signing.

"Bodvarsson isn't a standout player but has scored a few goals in the Championship for Reading over the past couple of seasons.

"He's more than capable of making an impact for a team like Millwall and he’d be a decent replacement for Lee Gregory and Steve Morison.

“He’s got one year remaining on his contract at Reading and he clearly isn't in Jose Gomes' plans for next season, so it makes sense for the Royals to sell him this summer.

“He’s still a good player at Championship level though and I think Millwall would be a good move for him."

Gary Hutchinson

“I think this could be a really good signing for Millwall. One thing that always marks them out is they blend players into an effective unit but often are not filled with stars and big names.

“The Icelandic international has played plenty of English football, he knows the league and understands the challenges. No surprises having moved from abroad, no time to settle in a different culture needed. That’s a big plus.

“He’s also not a bad player, but perhaps he hasn’t found the right environment. There is a bit of the ‘Iceland’ in Millwall anyway; punching a bit above their weight, strong ‘us and them’ mentality and a success through grit and determination as much as anything.

“I think this might prove to be very shrewd business because of that.”

Toby Wilding

"I think this is a good signing for Millwall.

"Bodvarsson is a solid Championship campaigner, and has the ability to contribute goals in a side at the wrong end of the Championship table, as he did for Reading last season.

"His height and physicality mean that he should fit in well with Millwall's style of play, and despite the arrival of Matt Smith, the departures of both Lee Gregory and Steve Morison since the end of the season means they arguably did need a further addition up top.

"Taking a striker off another side who could be battling for survival next season, meaning they weaken their rival as well strengthening themselves, also seems to make this a smart move."
