Derby County are keen on signing Rotherham's Will Vaulks, with the midfielder expected to leave the Millers this summer.

The Wales international was an outstanding performer for Paul Warne's side and his form has attracted a lot of attention, with a host of clubs from the top-two tiers showing an interest according to TEAMtalk.

They claim that Frank Lampard's side are one of those who want to do a deal as they look to build for next season.

Whilst they don't know what league they will be in, with the play-off final to be played on Monday, they have already made moves in the market already, with Graeme Shinnie joining from Aberdeen.

But, would Vaulks be a good addition at Pride Park?

Our writers take a look...

Alfie Burns

"Having already brought Shinnie into the club, you’ve got to question whether he’d be a good addition at Derby - particularly if they go up!

"Vaulks has had a good season with Rotherham and looks comfortable in the Championship, but I’m fairly sure that’s his level, and right now, the Rams have a chance of Premier League football.

"It’s maybe best to leave their targets until after Monday’s showdown."

Toby Wilding

"This could be a smart move for Derby.

"The Rams could find themselves short of midfield options next season with the loans of Harry Wilson and Mason Mount set to expire.

"Vaulks attacking threat and ability to control games from midfield would go someway to offset that loss should he make the move to Pride Park."

Chris Gallagher

"He might do a job in the Championship.

"Vaulks had a good season for Rotherham but I can't see him stepping up and starting for the Rams in the Premier League. Plus, the fans would expect better.

"Given he should be able for a decent fee you can understand why Derby are interested but there are better options out there."
