Bolton Wanderers return to Championship action on Saturday at home to Middlesbrough still searching for their first league win of the campaign.

Phil Parkinson’s men returned to the second tier at the first time of asking last term by finishing second in League One, but have seriously struggled to get to grips with the demands of the Championship in the opening month of the season.

The Trotters have lost to Leeds United, Derby County, and Hull City while could only manage draws against Millwall and Birmingham City, leaving Parkinson’s men routed to the bottom of the division over the first of the season’s international breaks.

Nonetheless, they will return to league action against Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough on Saturday hoping to finally register that first victory, and they may even have a new arrival to boast as recent reports suggest that former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Julio Baptista is training with the club.

The 35-year-old was released from Major League Soccer side Orlando City back in November and has been unattached ever since, yet could be about to make a surprise return to English football with Bolton, ten years since his last spell in the country with Arsenal came to an end.

And news of a potentially incredible deal for Baptista has stimulated quite a reaction from Bolton supporters on Twitter, with many somewhat stunned at the news…
