Watford have announced the signing of Dan Gosling this afternoon, with the midfielder agreeing a two-and-a-half year deal at Vicarage Road.

The 30-year-old had played in 15 games for the Cherries this season, but he was never a regular for Jason Tindall, and the arrival of Jack Wilshere knocked Gosling further down the pecking order.

As a result, a transfer had been suggested in the past week, with Watford winning the race for the ex-Everton man.

They revealed his arrival on their official site after confirming an undisclosed fee had been agreed with their fellow promotion hopefuls for the player.

Despite his decent pedigree, with Gosling having spent much of his career in the Premier League, it's fair to say the fans are very underwhelmed by this transfer update as they don't expect the new recruit to make much of an impact.
