Brentford travel to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship tonight and it's a return to a former club for Bees keeper David Raya.

With the Neal Maupay millions, Thomas Frank was able to splash the cash on his Brentford side in the summer. They signed a host of players and one who's proving a fine acquisition is David Raya.

The Spanish stopper made the move from Blackburn in the summer, where he'd spent five seasons from the age of 19.

Now aged 24, Raya looks to be asserting himself as one of the league's best goalkeepers having played every minute of Brentford's domestic campaign, keeping six clean sheets.

Frank worked hard to improve Brentford's defensive options over the summer. Pontus Jansson came in from Leeds and has again shown why he's one of the best at this level, and he along with Raya have made Brentford one of the hardest teams to breach.

The Bees have hit some fine form of late. They've won five of their last six Championship games, scoring 13 and conceding just four.

They'll be expecting to continue that form at Ewood Park tomorrow but Tony Mowbray's Blackburn won't be any pushovers - they've only lost one of their last eight Championship games at home and have won the last two there.

A win for Brentford could throw them into the top-six depending on other results, whilst Blackburn go into the game in 17th-place, six points behind 8th-placed Brentford.

Raya should get a good reception at Ewood Park tonight. He'd been a loyal servant to the club during his time there and didn't leave on bad terms.

He will travel there in good confidence as well, having had a strong start to his Brentford career. He doesn't have a point to prove against his former club tonight but he'll obviously want to show them what they're missing, and look to keep a third-straight clean sheet for Brentford.

Blackburn are a side that has goals in them from the likes of Bradley Dack and it certainly won't be an easy return to the club for the Spaniard.
