Nottingham Forest travel to Birmingham this weekend as they look to pick up where they left off before the international break.

The men from the City Ground finished the last period of games with a flourish as they beat QPR 4-0 with a performance of great quality as Tyler Walker scored two goals.

It was a display that generated some questions, too, and positive ones at that. We wondered whether Ben Osborn was the long-term successor to David Vaughan in midfield, bringing balance to the side.

We also wondered whether Forest actually need any more attacking buys in the January window, with Walker now staking his claim to play in the front four.

And, perhaps most positively of all, we wondered whether Mark Warburton has found a defensive pairing to stick with that is going to keep things tight at the back in Joe Worrall and Michael Mancienne.

Of course, QPR's woeful away record helped Forest but the signs have been there a while that things are coming together and Mark Warburton will surely look to get the answers he wants against Birmingham City.

The Blues are struggling, but they're not awful at home and possess some good talent going forward. They'll be looking to get a vital three points, too, but if Forest can come through with a clean sheet and a win, using a similar system to the one against the Rs, we could finally be seeing a side that has brought substance to the style.

This Birmingham game really is big.
