After weeks of speculation as to where the winger’s future lies, Aston Villa confirmed the signing of West Ham’s Robert Snodgrass on a season long loan last week.

The Villains confirmed the deal on their official Twitter account as they posted a picture of their stadium and told fans to look towards the North Stand.

Once fans zoomed in on the picture a picture of Robert Snodgrass could be seen.

Whilst this can be added to the list of cringe-worthy transfer announcements, the deal itself is going to be a great one for the Brummie club.

The 29-year-old struggled during his time at West Ham but he has plenty of experience in the Championship and will bring a lot of added quality to Steve Bruce’s side.

With only one win from their opening four Championship games and a tough away fixture against Bristol City coming up this weekend, this transfer couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Scot’s set-piece ability alone is enough to make him a big signing for the Villains.

That, along with his dribbling ability, passing, crossing, and finishing mean he can guarantee goals for Steve Bruce.

The fact that financial fair play regulations have gotten in the way of making this transfer a permanent one can benefit Aston Villa too.

On the off chance that Snodgrass doesn’t impress at Villa Park, they can send him right back to The London Stadium and not make the deal permanent.

This seems like a bit of a win-win situation for Villa.

Either they add a top-quality player to their ranks, or they save themselves the money of buying him out right straight away.
