At 26-years-old, Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy has been having a superb season in the Championship with Huddersfield Town but still, many aren’t tipping him to ever make it in the Premier League.
He was singled out for praise by manager David Wagner after the midweek win over Norwich City, and all season long, he’s been one of Huddersfield’s biggest players in their push for promotion.
Whilst the Terriers have stumbled in recent weeks, it’s likely they will make the play-offs when May eventually rolls around and there’s likely to be interested in Mooy at this level and above, who has been superb for the Terriers all season long.
Four goals, eight assists and a man who carries a real influence in the middle-of-the-park, Mooy has carried the team at times this season and he’s a player we think more than deserves a chance in the City first-team next season.
The likes of Fabian Delph are still struggling to get minutes in the City first-team and there’s likely to be a reshuffle at the Etihad over the summer but after some fantastic displays in the second tier, £850k-rated Mooy deserves a chance to shine for the Citizens going forward.
He’s a man that has a real presence on the pitch and can play in both the offensive and defensive positions in midfield, which is seriously useful for managers going forward.
At 26-years-old, he’s certainly a late bloomer but there’s absolutely no reason why City shouldn’t give him a chance in the first-team next season.
