Sheffield United will head into the Championship season next year looking to hit the ground running and continue their excellent form from this season.
Some of their performances this season have been simply outstanding, and manager Chris Wilder has done a superb job to turn around what was looking like a sinking ship under Nigel Adkins last season.
Despite the fact the Blades have scored so many goals this season, Wilder will know he needs to add more depth to his attacking line-up and get more goals in the team to take the load off Billy Sharp.
One player who the Blades could look to sign is current Bury striker James Vaughan, who is valued at £638k by website Transfermarkt.
The former Everton man has been simply superb in a struggling Bury side, scoring 24 goals to fire the Shakers to safety against the odds in League One. His pace and all around finishing ability make him a formidable striker at League One level, and he could well take that form into the Championship.
The Blades need some more pace in their squad, and despite Vaughan not getting any younger, at 28 he still has some of his best years ahead of him, something which could well benefit United in the short term.
If United could pull off the signing of Vaughan, it could well be a difference maker in terms of survival in the Championship.
