Wolves face another season in the Championship next year, after a laboured season saw them cruise to a 15th placed finish.

In truth, an awful start to the season effectively ended any hopes Wolves had of having a successful season - Walter Zenga being the man in charge for the disastrous start.

The former Italian goalkeeper was swiftly replaced with Championship experience, in the form of Paul Lambert, who had the desired impact, firing Wolves from inside the relegation zone to mid-table safety.

Lambert's reign at Molineux wasn't to last long though, as he left just a few weeks ago, and Nuno Espirito Santo fills the vacant role, embarking on his first role in English football.

One of Wolves' major problems last season was that they didn't score enough goals and that is something the new boss needs to address as soon as possible.

One man, they could add to their ranks, to go some way to solving the problem, is Martyn Waghorn.

The Rangers hitman has been prolific in Scotland, and if he could transfer his form south of the border, Wolves could have one of the Championships best strikers on their hands. While he impressed in Scotland's second tier, the former Sunderland man has struggled to wholly impose himself on first-team proceedings of late.

Waghorn (rated at just £638k on Transfermarkt) has plied his trade in the Championship before and he never really found his feet, but these days, he is a more mature striker, and seems well-suited to the second tier.

Certainly, he has an awful lot of strings to his bow, he can hold the ball up, bringing others into play, but he can also run in behind to stretch defences, something Wolves have lacked since the departure of Benik Afobe.

The clinical finisher will no doubt have a few potential suitors over the summer, but Wolves could be well placed to make a move and bring the 27-year-old to Molineux.
