This £231k-rated Newcastle United defender can kick start his career with a move to Bradford City

Bradford City have more or less shown their intention to escape League One with their latest player recruitment that has re-installed promise into the Bantams’ faithful for the upcoming campaign.

The Yorkshire outfit are desperate to return to the Championship following what will be a fourteen year absence and perhaps even consider being in contention to make a long-anticipated appearance in the Premier League.

It all starts now, however, and their defence needs reinforcing with the acquisition of £231,000-rated centre-back Curtis Good who is currently contracted to top-flight side Newcastle United.

Whilst it would be hugely beneficial for Stuart McCall’s men to obtain the Australian, it would also be a positive switch for the defender having endured the sidelines way too often with his injury plagued career.

The 24 year-old heavily featured in Newcastle’s under-23 side and their boss Phil Beardsley suffered a blow as Good picked up a significant injury in the latter stages of last term.

If he was highly missed then there is proof he has the talent, Curtis Good just has to showcase it on a regular basis and League One club Bradford City would be a great place to start by a fresh beginning.

Although he is still awaiting his first league appearance for the Magpies, the one-cap Australia international was rewarded for his efforts by featuring in the first-team’s FA Cup defeat to Oxford United.

I reckon Bradford City have the money to acquire Curtis Good on a permanent basis and it is definitely worth the punt as his current employer do rate him highly, but a switch would allow him to kick start his footballing career.

Bradford City supporters, would you welcome Curtis Good to Valley Parade? Is his injury history perhaps off-putting? Tell us your opinions in the comment section below!
