Barnsley have been victims to losing a lot of their playing staff over the last six months and with that comes something of a rebuilding job.

Paul Heckingbottom's squad shrunk significantly so as soon as the transfer window came along, he wasted no time pondering as he has already brought in seven players at the time of writing.

But the manager definitely shouldn't and certainly won't stop there as certain positions on the pitch are looking somewhat light.

The forward department in particular is looking relatively empty with former Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw awaiting a strike partner.

One man I think Paul Heckingbottom should consider signing is Scottish Premiership star Louis Moult.

Moult plays his football for Motherwell FC and has done since arriving in Scotland in 2015, joining from current National League side Wrexham.

A high-scoring non-league player can go one of two ways at a higher tiered club but the move worked out superbly for Moult, who has scored a total of 36 goals during his 76 matches for the club.

The fans adore him at Fir Park and in an effort to keep the forward at the club he has been offered a new contract.

Manager Stephen Robinson is 'hopeful' that he will put his signature at the bottom of the contract but understands that the striker who scored 18 goals last season will have alternative options.

One of these options should be Barnsley as Moult could really help the Tykes strengthen their striking options, and hopefully he can bring over his rich vein of form to England.

Transfermarkt currently values the 25-year-old at £425,000 so the side from Yorkshire wouldn't exactly have to break the bank to get their man.

Barnsley fans... Would you like to see Moult be signed by your club? Or are you looking for a man who has shown he can score goals in the Championship? Let us know what you think down in the comments!
